With my career of 13 years in the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) as an EMT-Â Emergency Medical Technician & working in several emergency rooms as an ER Technician providing patient care; I truly learned to believe that both western & eastern medicine together can create a balance and bring health & wellness throughout the nation.
Knowing the importance of keeping myself healthy by getting my regular annual doctor appointments, chiropractic adjustments and massage therapy sessions so that I could maintain a healthy lifestyle & wellness. After experiencing the great benefits of staying healthy and how great I felt, I knew I wanted to pursue my career in the holistic health profession. This was something I really wanted to do. It was a calling to me and I felt the need to change my career. I resigned from my job and enrolled into school to fulfill my passion so that I could practice massage therapy professionally. I wanted to continue to help other people as I had always had in the past but this time with a holistic non-invasive approach.
In 2009, I enrolled in the Massage Therapy program at the New York College of Health Professionals located in Syosset, New York. I graduated from the Massage Therapy Program in 2011, earning my Associates Degree in Applied Science; a professional 1,000 hour program with clinical studies in European, Eastern & Medical massage.
I am a Licensed Massage Therapist by the State of Ohio, New York & illinois; NBCTMB Board Certified Massage Therapist (BCTMB) and an active member of AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association) as well as the AMTA Ohio Sports Massage Team Chair. I am the Owner/Operator of Optimum Massage, LLC.
I have completed the following educational seminars and workshops in: Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue Massage, Cupping Therapy Technique, Hand & Foot Reflexology, Touch for Health-Applied Kinesiology, Myofascial Release, Sport Massage & Kinesotaping .
With having the desire, passion and ability to inspire & educate other individuals to live a life of health, wellness & longevity with preventive care, massage therapy is essential. Our bodies are our vessels during life, hence this is why it is so important for one to cherish & treasure the gift of life; our eternal essence & our bodies.
